Job Summary:
The Facilities/Loss Prevention Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining strategies to protect company assets, minimize risks, and ensure the efficient operation of facilities. This role involves assessing potential hazards, designing preventative measures, and collaborating with various departments to implement solutions that promote safety and security. They will also be in charge of facility maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards, vulnerabilities, and areas of improvement.
- Loss Prevention Strategies: Develop and implement loss prevention strategies to mitigate risks related to theft, vandalism, accidents, and other security threats.
- Security Systems: Oversee the installation, maintenance, and optimization of security systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, alarm systems, and fire suppression systems.
- Facility Maintenance: Collaborate with facilities management teams to ensure proper maintenance of buildings, equipment, and infrastructure, identifying and addressing issues that could compromise safety or security.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop emergency response plans and procedures to effectively address incidents such as fires, natural disasters, and security breaches, ensuring the safety of employees and minimizing business disruption.
- Compliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant regulations and industry standards related to facilities management, safety, and security, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and best practices.
- Training and Education: Provide training and educational programs to employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and loss prevention strategies, fostering a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into security breaches, accidents, and other incidents, analyzing root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to procure security equipment and services, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for facility maintenance, security measures, and loss prevention initiatives, optimizing resource allocation to achieve organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Proven experience in facilities management, loss prevention, or a related field, with a strong understanding of safety and security principles.
- Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies, security systems, and emergency response planning.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify potential risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
